Frequently Asked Questions

Maybe. Maybe not. I know, a nice definitive answer. If you have tried finding what it is you are looking for–a person, document, information–and are not satisfied, a professional could help. A free, honest assessment will help both of us figure out if hiring Mondo Investigations is a possible solution.

Getting your information organized can help during the consultation. If you already have a list of names and information such as addresses to go with those names, it helps figure out where the investigation will start. If you have specific questions, feel free to write them out so you have them in front of you when you call.

Maybe. Maybe not. See the pattern? The fact of the matter is, hiring a PI is going to be like hiring any service professional.

The consultation is the time we can figure out if I can help with your case or needs.

Bigger and more in-depth cases will obviously cost more money. But sometimes I may be able to take a small piece of your case and keep costs within your set budget. For example, a pre-relationship background check will start at $19.99 and go up from there. Investigative work starts at $110 an hour. For nonprofit organizations, my work as a tax-deductible in-kind donation could be a possibility. Expenses outside an hourly rate will also be discussed.

If you (the client) requests a contract, I am required by law to provide one. That contract will outline pay, expectations and legal necessities. I highly recommend a contract.

We will discuss your needs and expectations, how we will communicate, what kind of report I will provide, when I will send you a report, and more. This is a great time to ask any remaining questions you may have.

Definitely. Look, I love pop culture PIs as much as the next person. I was particularly disappointed when both Jessica Jones and Stumptown were canceled. But fictional PIs regularly violate many laws and I will not. I won’t break into your ex’s house. I will not be setting up cameras in anyone’s bedroom. There are laws that dictate what you can and can’t track and record. Plus, any case that may end up in court needs to be investigated following the law.
